    beautiful - i've seen a few alaska folk posting mushrooms pics and i can't wait till it is our time here! what a perfect little amanita you found.

    Love all the photos mostly of the mushrooms. I learned to appreciate their beauty when I took a Mycology class up at UAF. It has finally cooled down some here but I still miss home around this time of the year.

    we've had mushrooms galore around here as well. it almost makes me not even mind that autumn is in the air (and the light is retreating). :-)

    I hear ya Julie! Mushrooms ease the blow of the dark days of impending winter! Autumn is in Interior Alaska - that is for sure!
