Pure heart.

My heart could pop and ooze love right this very second. I'm cozy at home reflecting on a month of bazaars. Today was my last one and oh Fairbanks, it was fun. I like you. You reminded me why I chose you.

Three consecutive weekends can tire a girl out, but man, it's worth it to sit here now -- one big puddle of love. Thank you. There is nothing quite like striking a feeling tone of community while doing that thing you love -- sharing art with people.

One of my favorite moments from the Watershed Holiday Market was when a little girl--couldn't have been older than 7 or 8-- stopped by my booth to talk gratitude.

She told me that she didn't need a gratitude stone, but wanted to tell me the things she was grateful for anyway.

Doesn't that fill you up? Make you feel in your bones that everything is going to be alright? We're all in this together and our kids are showing us the way. They are pure heart.

Hello you.

There was a quick prick to my heart when I saw that I last posted on the 25th of October. Time is speeding on by and I will admit I feel a pang of guilt when I don't show up here regularly. I guess the lesson is to let go and get clear. Pay attention that something else is trying to be born. Surrender, always, surrendering.

If you are a regular reader you've gathered by now that I haven't been around as much as I have in the past. Since late spring I have felt the growing pains of my business and I'm intent on continuing to hold a space for these changes. What does all that mean? The truth is....I don't know.  Writing this blog is something I love, but I'm struggling a bit to keep everything balanced. And guilt? Guilt sucks. It is nothing but a prison of my own making and I'm over it. I am.  All we can do is our best. The best medicine is gentleness towards self. That is where I'm beginning today...gentleness and surrender...letting go and getting clear....

Around here

I've settled into a nice routine this week. It goes something like this:  Greet the day, coffee, pet walk, painting, eating, painting, painting, painting, stretching, filling up water glass, painting, painting, painting....you get the picture.

I like to listen to things when I paint and I have been on a roll going through the archives of This American Life. I think I have a crush on Ira Glass - scratch that. I definitely have a crush on Ira Glass. He has the best laugh. I want to invite him to a dinner party. I do.
I discovered this podcast earlier in the week and felt like I won the lottery: From Scratch, A radio show about the entrepreneurial life.  Thirty minute chats with a variety of entrepreneurs. It's inspiring.
