Celebrity gifting: Drew Barrymore

It took me awhile to intuit the pieces I wanted to paint for Drew Barrymore. At first I thought I would use her quotes posted on imdb.com to create an alchemy painting. Remember that project? I swear I will finish it one of these days.

I made the first washes and abandon the project. Something didn't feel right.

The next day a package came in the mail. The contents were driftwood my dad had collected this past summer in Italy.

The rest is history.

My little soul shouted "Yes!" when I paired this glass float next to this piece of driftwood. It reminded me of wings -- opening.

This is special work. Usually when I paint I do not know where the piece will land. It is a fascinating process to paint for celebrities that I've only admired from afar.

This life is a dream coming true. I'm so happy it is mine.

Wishing you all the magic a day of two's offers....Happy 22nd of March!

    1. Aww- thank you! I'm a part of The Artisan Group who creates these wonderful opportunities for artist's. The women that run this group are on point and 100% awesome. A lot of the members who gift celebrities through this group get mentioned via the celebs through social media, etc. Exciting stuff!
